wow…are people really claiming that club selection has anything to do with what defines a pitch or a chip shot? this is a pitch. plain and simple. early wrist break = pitch. the SPIN on this ball clearly makes this not a chip shot. this ball would bounce maybe 3 times max and check right up. chips ROLL. the act of him not shutting the clubface back down and keeping it ahead of his hands makes a flop shot as well. this is also a flop. flop is an open faced pitch without a release.

I agree! This is definitely a drive. Anyone who thinks it’s a pitch or a chip is fucking retarded.

Mickelson calls that type of shot a chip and says you hinge , break your wrists when chipping. I’ll take his word over the words of a bunch of wannabee loser pretender high handicap hackers any day. LOL

Yes, That`s a Bitch Shot XD
December 2nd, 2010 at 3:29 pm
it was a pitch ( a two lever motion with wrist action) not a chip (a one lever,no wrist break motion)…

@jdaog Just saying, that if we amateurs daily made so much duff shots – destroying the courses. The Golf Manager had to say: Please Mr Peter Europa, please leave this course at once!
If you look at PGA tour matches, you must agree, or? Duff after duff. But that’s a part of the game (to get the spinn). Love to see those Proffs playing, they are of course awesome! But excuse me Mr Tiger, this was not a duff.lol

@tombutleruk phil’s video is right, the hing and hold will allow for the use of the holding position you see tiger do with this right hand. only after does he release
December 2nd, 2010 at 7:46 pm
nope its a chip hes not using as much bounce as the club and lie would allow
December 2nd, 2010 at 7:59 pm
its a flop shot
December 2nd, 2010 at 8:47 pm
where is the chip? xD
December 2nd, 2010 at 9:06 pm
love the super strong grip.
December 2nd, 2010 at 9:27 pm
Would you say he breaks his wrists, if only slightly, there? Alot of instructional vids take about no play in the wrists.
Whereas Phil Mickelson uses his “hinge and hold” technique where he breaks (hinges) his wrists on the back swing and then holds his arms and wrists after contact with the ball.

duff, like all poffs
December 2nd, 2010 at 10:32 pm
Are you fucking retarded, this a chip shot not a pitch. He’s using a 60. Not a 54 or 52. Jeeze, kids these days. They don’t know Golf too well.

@bjsmaligalig070885 Sorry buddy, but a chip is when the ball come of the clubs face with a significant spin rate and goes much higher than a chip. This is a chip shot, i think i would know. I am a 9 handicap.
